Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist

The postholder will provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary team. They will work with the team manager to ensure responsive, excellent and safe care is provided that supports the whole healthcare system. • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry OR within six months Approved clinician status
• Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of eligibility
• Approved Clinician status AND Approved under S12 of the UK Mental Health Act (1983), or able to achieve these within 3 months of appointment
• Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines), Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines) Experience in other relevant specialties such as in patient, liaison psychiatry, home treatment or addictions
• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
• Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
• Membership or fellowship of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Appreciation and understanding of ethnic minority issues and a commitment to developing culturally sensitive practices, Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
• Experience of service development
• Teaching, Academic and leadership,
• Experience of teaching at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.
