Responsibilities Review the Home Treatment Team caseload within the multi‑disciplinary team setting to ensure efficient and excellent care, reducing average patient time on the caseload, preventing hospital admissions, and formulating effective care plans to enable patients in crisis to return safely to their community teams.

Screen inpatient wards weekly and assess patient suitability for early discharge under the Home Treatment Team, thereby reducing average inpatient stay, creating bed space and reducing out‑of‑county admissions and place‑of‑safety re‑purposing.

Conduct bi‑weekly medical reviews of patients under the Home Treatment Team, updating care plans, consolidating diagnosis and treatment.

Provide a mix of home visits and scheduled outpatient clinic reviews to accommodate the local geography and long distances between homes.

Use supporting professional activity time to help develop the county crisis service and other aspects of emergency mental health care in Cornwall.

Qualifications Full GMC registration and licence.

Eligibility for Section12 and AC approval.

Inclusion on the Specialist Register or participation as a Specialty Trainee within six months of gaining CCT.

Desirable: Section12/AC approval trainer training to enable clinical and/or supervision of trainees.

CCT or equivalent in General Adult Psychiatry.

Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent).

Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Previous leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to manage own time, workload and prioritise clinical work.

IT proficiency, including email and internet use.

Knowledge of risk management.

Evidence‑based decision making, incorporating contributions from others.

Capability to meet duties under the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act. #J-18808-Ljbffr
