Volunteer Car Driver – Patient Transport Service
We are seeking volunteer car drivers to join our team based in Adington. As a Patient Transport Volunteer Driver, you will provide safe, reliable transportation for vulnerable patients to non‑emergency medical appointments. Your commitment ensures that patients can access essential medical care on time, with comfort and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Drive patients to non-emergency appointments and hospital services.
- Assist patients with getting on and off the vehicle, and provide reassurance during the journey.
- Coordinate with our dispatch team to plan routes and schedules.
- Foster positive relationships within the community and with patients.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and safe condition.
- Operate independently while receiving support from the volunteer team.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Owner or access to a 4‑door car (minimum).
- Basic IT skills (e.g., use of a smartphone).
- Friendly, empathetic, and caring demeanour.
