Position Summary
To provide a highly specialist psychology service to children and young people and families with complex and severe eating disorders (ED).
The post‑holder will be responsible for individual case management and will conduct highly specialist psychological assessments, produce highly complex formulations, and deliver direct therapeutic work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high‑level psychological assessments.
- Produce highly complex formulations.
- Deliver direct therapeutic interventions.
- Provide specialist advice and consultation to multi‑agency professionals and non‑professional carers.
- Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the team’s policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Post‑Graduate Doctoral level training in Applied Psychology or its equivalent (approved by the HCPC).
- Professional registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
- Clinical experience working with clients presenting across a range of severity.
- Experience tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs.
- Experience working with community Learning Disability teams and/or in‑patient settings.
- Knowledge of highly specialist psychological assessment methods and therapeutic approaches for the client group, and skills in applying this knowledge.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the client group.
- Knowledge of research and audit methodology suitable to the role.

Full‑time, permanent role within a growing CAMHS eating disorders outpatient service.
