Overview

Join the Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) Medicines Advice team based in London to help deliver expert, evidence‑based advice on the safe and effective use of medicines across England. Our national service supports healthcare professionals and policy makers to optimise medicines use and improve patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical medicines advice to healthcare professionals in primary and community care.
  • Research, critically appraise evidence, and deliver clear, timely responses.
  • Contribute to national resources and support medicines optimisation initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across England and support service development.

Qualifications

  • GPhC‑registered pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge.
  • MPharm, Master of Pharmacy, Post‑graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent) or comparable clinical experience.
  • Evidence of post‑registration commitment to continuing professional development such as postgraduate study or regular attendance at educational meetings.
  • Experience working in a medicines information & advice service.
  • Ability to critically appraise and analyse complex information and present findings coherently to healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a changing environment, to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organise a broad range of activities, formulate and adjust plans as circumstances change.
  • Experience delivering medicine advice to health care professionals across England.
