Overview
As Clinical Lead, you will provide expert clinical guidance and supervision, lead on specialist pathways, and help shape the future of our Children’s Therapy Service in Central & West Lancashire.
Your role will involve travelling across the locality to offer clinical leadership, second opinions and supervision to staff within the Chorley and West Lancashire teams, while also developing your own leadership skills within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical guidance, supervision and second opinions to multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead on specialist pathways for children and young people aged 0‑19 across MSK, Early Years, Coordination Difficulties and Long‑Term Conditions.
- Shape and evolve service delivery in line with best practice and the Trust’s values.
- Travel efficiently across schools, nurseries and children’s homes, planning routes and managing a caseload of children with complex and additional needs.
- Support colleagues to deliver high‑standard, person‑centred care for children and families.
- Promote and uphold clinical governance, audit, and research standards within the service.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Evidence of formal training, self‑study or specialist experience to a Masters‑level equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of assessment tools for children with diverse needs.
- Extensive understanding of therapy techniques and programmes applicable to children with diverse needs.
- Critical knowledge of evidence‑based practice, research and current issues relating to the client group.
- Experience working with children with complex needs and their families in community settings.
- Safeguarding of children and implementation of policy and procedures, with evidence of training/updates.
- Submission for a Disclosure and Barring Service check (subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975).
