EIIP Support Time and Recovery Worker in Chertsey

EIIP Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker - Nepali Speaking (22.5 hours per week- 3 days) An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIIP) Team in West Surrey and North East Hampshire as a part-time Nepali-speaking STR Worker, from 9am-5pm, working ideally on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Work days can be discussed at the interview. Our EIIP service is a supportive, innovative multidisciplinary team, committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to people experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This role is key to strengthening our engagement with the local Nepali community by providing culturally sensitive support, education and advocacy to people and their families., Based primarily at Aldershot Centre for Health, with our main team base at Unither House, Chertsey, you will work across the locality, including attending team meetings in Chertsey.

• The purpose of this post is to work as part of the EIIP team and to focus on the direct needs of service users, working across boundaries of care, organisations and roles.
• To ensure that service users engage effectively with the agreed Care Plan and access appropriate services provided on a regular and consistent basis.
• Act as an interpreter at appointments and telephone calls where necessary as a Nepali speaking STR Worker, to give a continuity of support throughout appointments.
• Increase the use of information available in Nepali that is produced at the right level (graphic as well as written).
• Positively promote independent living of service users within the community.
• Provide regular and practical support to service users and their carers in developing and managing dignity and independence.
  We are looking for someone who is fluent in Nepali and English ( written and speaking ). Who has excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoys working as part of a team, and is passionate about improving mental health outcomes within the local community., Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work., NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), Fluent in Nepali and English language - speaking and writing
