Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a Theatre Practitioner to join their Theatre department in Glangwili General Hospital based in Carmarthen., An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly skilled workforce in the Recovery unit of the Main Operating Theatres at Glangwili General Hospital. The successful candidate will join a motivated team of multi-disciplinary professionals delivering high quality, evidence-based care to our patients., You will be able to find a full job description and person specification attached within the supporting documents.

This vacancy is suitable for Registered Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic candidate with the ability to work well within a challenging environment, and who can deliver high quality patient care. Willingness to work as part of an on-call, 24/7 rota will be required for this post. A structured induction programme will be provided for all new members of staff, plus access to on-going continuing professional education and development. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply., The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. If you do not meet the Welsh Language requirements specified, the Health Board offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal desirable requirements during the course of your employment with us.,

  • Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) OR Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Registered General Nurse OR Registered Operating Departmental Practitioner
  • Commitment to undertake an appropriate course of study
  • To have a knowledge and understanding of all surgical specialities within the operating department
  • Evidence of continuing professional development, Diploma in theatre perioperative practice, Post registration experience
  • Relevant experience in all specialities General / orthopaedic / gynae / urology / Trauma
  • Experience in the supervision / teaching of students, support staff and others
