Overview
An exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant – Reception/Admin Support at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care – North Cumbria, Carlisle.
Responsibilities
- Deal with telephone enquiries promptly.
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and transport bookings.
- Make oncology review appointments for patients leaving oncology outpatients.
- Issue concessionary parking permits.
- Liaise with NCIC estates regarding contractor passes, keys, and parking permits.
- Perform general reception meet and greet duties.
- Upload records into the patient record system (E‑record), primarily from one of the receptions at NCCCNC.
- Support the wider oncology team and work within an administrative team to provide efficient service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level A–C, including English Language, or equivalent qualification (OCR I or NVQ Level 2 Business & Administration).
- Previous work experience.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Good IT skills, including office software packages.
- Good keyboard skills and text processing ability.
- Good communication skills – written, verbal, and telephone.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
- Understanding of confidentiality issues.
