Team Lead/Learning Disability Nurse (Children and Young People) in Cardiff

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Registered Nurse in Learning Disability (RNLD) to join the established CALDS (Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service) which is a community based multi-disciplinary team within the Children, Young People (CYP) and Family Health Service. We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced clinician to join our service in a Team Lead role for our tertiary response pathway (called Cyfuno). This is a key leadership role, providing clinical, operational, and strategic oversight to a specialist multidisciplinary team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that vulnerable children and young people receive timely, coordinated, and effective support during periods of crisis., We are looking for a forward thinking RNLD who has in-depth knowledge of factors effecting the health and wellbeing of children with LD, reasonable adjustments that may be required, behaviours that are challenging and complex needs, along with an interest in supporting the development and improvement of the service. The post holder will have the ability to support CYP and their families; delivering good quality, individualised and evidenced based care. The post holder will have the skills to work in a team and as an individual, be confident to work within their competencies and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the service. Roles will include leading on risk assessment, decision-making and crisis planning, liaising with Safeguarding and Risk & Governance Leads, chairing and contributing to multi-agency meetings for complex and high-risk children, driving quality improvement, audit, and governance processes, working with professional leads to manage workload, co-developing service delivery and outcome measures, and fostering strong inter-agency relationships to support integrated care. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
