Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recruiting two Specialty Doctor posts in Dermatology. Closing date: 10 June 2026. The posts are 0.8 WTE, fixed‑term until the end of March 2027.

About the Department

The Dermatology Department is part of the Medicine Clinical Board, providing secondary and tertiary services across Wales, including pediatric dermatology, Mohs surgery, photodermatology and monochromator light therapy.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide outpatient inflammatory and ulcerative skin clearance (USC) clinics, support day‑care, biologics infusions and day surgery.
  • Perform skin biopsies, curettage, cautery and skin excisions.
  • Work collaboratively with the consultant clinical team and the nursing dermatology team.

Qualifications:

  • MBBS or recognised equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice

Experience:

  • Four years full‑time postgraduate training (or equivalent) with at least two years in Dermatology or a fixed‑term specialty trainee in Dermatology

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

  • Effective team and multidisciplinary working
  • Clinical decision‑making when necessary
  • Understanding of clinical risk management and governance
  • Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Evidence of audit work
  • Research interests relevant to the specialty
