An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and reliable individual to join the Security Services team as a Band 3 Security Supervisor. The post holder will support the delivery of a safe and secure environment across the Health Board, assisting in the day‑to‑day supervision of security officers. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of service, professionalism, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job:
- Lead and coordinate security staff on shift
- Provide a visible, professional and reassuring presence across all sites
- Support the response to incidents, including conflict situations and emergencies
- Ensure all incidents are recorded accurately and reported in line with policy
- Carry out regular patrols of buildings and grounds to maintain security
- Monitor CCTV systems in accordance with legislation and local procedures
- Provide guidance and support to security officers during shifts
- Liaise with staff, patients, visitors, and external agencies such as the Police
- Promote a safe and secure working environment at all times
- Assist with investigations and follow‑up actions where required

Job responsibilities:
You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents. The Security Supervisor will support the Security Management team in the effective delivery of security services across all sites. Key responsibilities include:
- The allocation of duties and deployment of staff
- Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Supporting training and development of security staff
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Responding to and managing incidents in a calm and professional manner
- Undertaking administrative duties relevant to the role
Qualifications:
- Good general education to include GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent
- Security Certification / Licences
Experience:
- Security Experience
- Previous experience of undertaking Security duties
- Working with the general public
Skills:
- Good communication skills & ability to work as part of a team
- Good standard of IT skills (Outlook, Word, reporting systems)
- Ability to deal with volatile situations calmly and effectively
- Knowledge of GDPR / information governance
Special Knowledge:
- Security Standards, protocols & legislation
- Proactive support for change
- Ability to stimulate staff to improve quality of service
- Understanding of Health and Safety regulations
