Cardiff and Vale Public Health Team Food is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to take up the exciting position of Food Sense Wales Programme Manager.
This is a senior strategic role leading Food Sense Wales’ work of influencing and impacting on how food is produced and consumed in Wales. Detailed knowledge and experience of food systems is essential.
You will be highly‑motivated and influential, and will need to build on existing excellent relations with key strategic partners at both a national and local level. You will also be required to establish new connections as relevant during this pivotal time.
You will be expected to provide highly specialised advice and expertise on the development of strategy, policy and practice in relation to the food system across Wales, and co‑ordinate and deliver key programmes of work.
You will contribute to national level advisory groups as required, and build relationships with statutory and third sector organisations working in the field across the UK and further afield.
The post holder is responsible for leading, planning, implementing and evaluating projects and programmes of work within Food Sense Wales to improve access to healthy, sustainable and affordable food across Wales and will have delegated responsibility for managing the relevant budgets held by Food Sense Wales and overseen by the Steering Group.
The post holder will provide professional leadership and management of staff and resources, including line managing the Food Cardiff Sustainable Food Places Co‑ordinator.
