The Child Health Psychology department at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales is recruiting a practitioner psychologist to join the paediatric gastroenterology team. The role works under the supervision of an 8a Clinical Psychologist and will provide expert professional and clinical services, multidisciplinary work, consultation, liaison, research, teaching, and training.
Job responsibilities
- Deliver psychologically informed care for gastroenterology patients and their families.
- Provide clinical assessment, formulation and intervention within a multidisciplinary team.
- Consult and liaise with nursing and medical staff, contributing to service development and research.
- Teach and train staff as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Good honours degree in Psychology (eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership).
- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the HCPC.
- Eligibility for HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
- Additional training in relevant areas (research, supervision).
Experience
- Post‑qualification experience as a HCPC registered practitioner psychologist.
- Experience exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary or multi‑agency contexts.
- Relevant experience applying clinical/counselling psychology in the NHS.
