An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Occupational Therapy team as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the well-established Community Resource Team, based in Cardiff. We are looking for Full and Part time Occupational Therapists who are motivated, dynamic and confident with experience of working in an NHS community setting who are looking to work in a team focused on supporting people to maintain independence at home.
The positions will be based with the Cardiff Community Resource Team, which is based over 2 sites including Whitchurch and Llanrumney offices. The expectation is to cover the Occupational Therapy service across the whole of the city, as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- This post involves travelling between a number of patient homes in the locality, often with equipment. As such, the post holder will be required to be a driver with a valid UK driving licence and daily access to a car.
- Deliver Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions in line with current guidance and evidence base, supported by the RCOT Pillars of Practice.
- Promote the independence of patients/clients living at home or within the care sector so as to avoid inappropriate hospital admissions, facilitate safe early hospital discharge, and prevent or reduce unnecessary long-term permanent placements.
- Engage in service development and improvement projects, and develop supervisory skills where appropriate.
- Work within a seven-day service with a weekend rota in place.
- Have sound IT skills and be provided with necessary equipment.

- Experience of working in an NHS community setting and confidence to support people to maintain independence at home.
- Valid UK driving licence and daily access to a car.

- Desirable: ability to speak Welsh.
