The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 £ per year.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of the clinical leadership team of Cardiff & Vale's Lymphoedema service. It is an innovative time for Lymphoedema Wales and the Cardiff & Vale Lymphoedema Service with continued development of the service including pathways across all clinical boards.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the lymphoedema national team under the guidance of the clinical Lead Therapist to provide highly specialist lymphoedema management and care for residents of the Health Board.
- Assess and treat patients with primary, cancer-related and non-cancer-related lymphoedema and deliver prevention education.
- Teach, audit and evaluate the service, and support the operational running of the department and clinical team.
- Collaborate with the OGEP (On the Ground Education Programme), the wider community team, wound clinics and the national Lymphoedema Service to ensure patient care is delivered to the highest quality, utilising research and evidence-based practice in line with local and national policies, professional standards and guidance.
- Treat and assess complex chronic oedema, wet legs and superficial wounds; supervise, teach and assess competencies related to chronic oedema management for non-registered and pre/post registration staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven skills in lymphoedema/chronic oedema/dermatology; full training and support available for the suitable candidate.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide concise professional advice and support to patients.
- Experience in oncology, rehabilitation, wound management and community work is beneficial.
- Confident, enthusiastic and with a positive outlook to facilitate and motivate patients; experience working with patients with long-term health conditions is beneficial.
- Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh; however, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
