We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate physiotherapist to join our specialist team within the breast cancer centre. This post will work closely with the breast cancer nurses, consultants and wider MDTs to support and empower patients during their breast cancer journey while encouraging rehabilitation and exercise as part of their treatment.
The role will have an outpatient caseload and will be working closely with our principal Lymphoedema therapist and MSK colleagues. There will be significant opportunities for service improvement and pathway development. You will work very closely with a Physiotherapy Technician in the delivery of group interventions at a tier 1 & 2 level.
Successful candidates will join a progressive team with a clear vision to deliver high quality care for the people of Cardiff and Vale, in alignment with our one team therapies, clinical rehabilitation model. You will contribute to shaping and implementing our strategy as we build and grow our integrated, multidisciplinary, person-centred service to meet the needs of our population.
You will contribute to our growing movement which is turning rhetoric to reality in delivering co-produced, value-based and person-centred care. Support is integral to our model, including from our large team of clinical colleagues within Physiotherapy, lymphedema and the MSK multidisciplinary team (podiatry, hand therapy, dietetics, psychology, orthopaedics, rheumatology and radiology) and from innovation and improvement, value-based healthcare and R&D teams.
Our training and development framework and existing values-based appraisals will align to the enhanced, advanced and consultant framework, enabling opportunities for everyone to progress across all 4 pillars of advanced and 5 pillars of consultant practice at a pace that suits them.
Successful post holders will be based in the breast centre at Llandough but will have close links with the lymphedema team at CRI, providing clinical leadership and delivery in an integrated model of care that aims to deliver seamless care across the whole pathway. They will work with the team to deliver timely and accurate diagnosis, secondary prevention and supportive treatments, whilst transferring care to other specialities and MDT services appropriately.
Although this role will be based at the breast centre as the only physiotherapist, our integrated model gives a unique opportunity for practice-based learning and quality improvement within a team environment. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
