Overview
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recruiting Nursing students to join our Temporary Staffing Bank as Health Care Support Workers (HCSW). As an HCSW you will support doctors, nurses and specialists, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as eating, showering and using the toilet.
- Take patient observations including blood pressure and temperature.
- Communicate with patients and reassure them.
- Assist nurses and other staff when needed.
- Maintain a high standard of infection control procedures in accordance with our policies.
- Maintain ward stocks, keep storerooms and clinical areas organised and tidy, and perform other duties delegated by nursing staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current nursing student who has completed your first ward placement.
- Medical or midwifery students may apply but must attend the relevant training.
- Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome.
- Demonstrate core values: Kind and caring, Respectful, Trust and integrity, Personal responsibility.
- If you are not a UK or Republic of Ireland national, you will require sponsorship for a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa.
