We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people with a flexible approach to work to join our Catering team within Facilities at the University Hospital of Wales. The vacancy is permanent with various hours available between 06:00 and 16:00 and any five from seven days.

Main duties of the job Candidates must possess a current food hygiene certification, have good customer care skills and be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team. Knowledge of food production within a commercial kitchen, COSHH, health & safety and infection control would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided. The ideal candidate will need to adapt to an ever changing health care environment. You will need to be organized and have experience of working in a busy service where you would be required to prioritise workloads according to schedules and service needs. There are development opportunities for people with good organisational and communication skills and a good knowledge of delivering a quality service to patients, relatives and staff.

Person Specification Experience:
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Previous Catering Experience
- Experience of working in a NHS health care environment
Qualifications:
- Good numeracy and literacy education
- Intermediate Food Hygiene
- N.V.Q Level 2 Catering qualification or Equivalent
Skills:
- Good customer care and verbal/written communication skills
- Sufficient experience of catering service
Special Knowledge:
- Cleaning techniques within a catering environment in accordance with food hygiene
- General knowledge of cleaning techniques and cleaning frequencies within a commercial food production unit
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques in accordance with NHS standards
