Day Crisis Worker in Cardiff

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 16,000 staff and providing over 100 specialist services. Serving a population of around 500,000 people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, we are focused on the health and care needs of our local population whilst also working with our partners to develop regional services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Crisis Worker to join Ynys Saff Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). As a regional NHS service for South East Wales, we play a vital role in supporting individuals who have experienced sexual violence and abuse, helping them access the care and assistance they need.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in someone's journey towards safety, recovery, and empowerment. As a Crisis Worker, you will be one of the first professionals that clients encounter following a traumatic experience, offering immediate emotional support, practical guidance, advocacy, and reassurance during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will support adults, young people, and families who have experienced sexual violence and abuse.

As a Crisis Worker, you will:

• Provide immediate emotional and practical support to individuals accessing the SARC.
• Ensure clients understand their options and can make informed decisions about their care and next steps.
• Coordinate referrals and provide access to specialist support services.
• Advocate for clients and help them navigate the process.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding processes.
• Participate in a rota that provides responsive support to people when they need it most 24 hours of the day 365 days of the year.
• Have excellent communication skills with our partner agencies.
• Be able to complete a full forensic clean of the area to standards which meet ISO 15189 Forensic Accreditation Standards.
