Overview

Funding provided by Health and Care Research Wales supports NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by an R&D Director to provide local services for research support and facilitate the sponsoring and hosting of studies within UHBs across Wales. Part of this service includes an NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers and Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies. An excellent opportunity is available at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for a Data and Information Administrator to join our dedicated team within Research Delivery. This post is fixed-term until 31 January 2028 to cover the needs of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with research active medics and other Health Professionals and their teams, providing training and support on both local and central portfolio management systems.
  • Generate reports for the Director of R&D, Performance Lead and Clinical Boards, while taking responsibility for designated areas of the local portfolio management system and troubleshooting where necessary.
  • Communicate with UHB colleagues, Health & Care Research Wales (HCRW) Support and Delivery Centre and external agencies such as pharmaceutical companies, Contract Research Organisations and Sponsors.
  • Act as the primary contact for data queries generated by HCRW Support and Delivery Centre and Sponsors, investigating and rectifying data anomalies.

Application Process

Applicants are invited to apply in Welsh. Any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English. The UHB reserves the right to close this vacancy after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received, so early applications are encouraged. Please check your email account regularly – successful applicants will receive all recruitment related correspondence via the email account registered on the application form. To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless they have permission to work via another route. Non‑UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply should self‑assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship by visiting the Work in the UK website.

Language

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
