We are looking to recruit an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP). The suitable candidate will be a highly skilled professional responsible for the comprehensive care of newborns admitted to the neonatal unit.
Key duties include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of newborns admitted to neonatal unit and transitional care areas.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Performing advanced clinical procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and management of ventilated patients.
- Prescribing medications and therapies within scope of practice, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Providing expert guidance and support to nursing staff, junior doctors, and allied health professionals.
- Educating and supporting families, offering counselling and information on neonatal conditions and treatments.
- Leading and participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects within the neonatal unit.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and promoting a culture of safety and excellence in care.
Candidates must hold a master's degree in advanced nursing practice, possess extensive neonatal experience, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities. The role is based in neonatal intensive care and involves shift work to deliver round‑the‑clock care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
