An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Administrator/Receptionist within the Health Visiting clerical team in the Early Intervention and Prevention Care Group. The team provides a comprehensive administration service to the Health Visitors supporting them in the delivery of the Healthy Child Wales Programme. This busy and varied office-based role covers a wide range of clerical duties, including dealing with queries from parents, outside agencies, and health professionals at all levels, as well as responding to telephone enquiries, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and using NHS software packages such as Oracle and PARIS. The role may require travelling to different sites. An understanding of confidentiality, autonomy, and teamwork are essential. Welsh language skills are desirable but not required.
Job responsibilities
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Strong IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and NHS software packages such as Oracle and PARIS
- Deal competently and discreetly with queries using appropriate protocols in accordance with the Data Protection Act
- Handle telephone enquiries courteously and efficiently, recording messages and ensuring relevant staff receive them
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Perform general clerical duties associated with the health visiting service
- Use PARIS and Oracle software packages

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (IT Qualification)
Experience
- Previous experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office/reception duties, experience in patient or public environments and within a team, experience of data inputting and retrieval
- Previous NHS experience; familiarity with Electronic Patient Record Systems such as PARIS, CYPRIS, ORACLE, PMS etc

- Ability to undertake a wide range of basic administrative tasks
- Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team, proactive approach, problem solving and prioritisation skills
