Role Overview

The role involves delivering and coordinating patient‑centred nursing care within an agreed framework, including assessing, planning and reviewing care in partnership with patients and their families. The post holder will monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition and manage feedback or concerns effectively.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, they will prioritise and delegate duties, take charge of shifts when required and contribute to maintaining a safe environment while continuing their professional development in line with revalidation requirements. The post holder will join the team on the Female Acute Ward and play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months post‑registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment.
  • Evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.
  • A current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • A background in mental health, particularly within an acute ward setting, would be highly desirable.

Experience in managing complex and dynamic clinical environments, with the ability to respond effectively to patients with higher acuity needs, will support strong clinical decision‑making, resilience and a proactive approach to delivering safe, high‑quality care in fast‑paced settings.

Additional Information

All roles are subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland. Priory will cover the cost of a DBS check.
