Job Overview

Marie Curie Bradford Hospice in Bradford is looking for Catering Assistants to join our friendly Facilities Team.

Our hospice is CQC‑rated Outstanding.

The Cafe operates Monday to Friday from 8am–10am and 12pm–2pm, serving refreshments, light snacks and meals throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily running of catering services under the Head Chef.
  • Assist with food preparation, simple cooking and general kitchen duties.
  • Help maintain our Level5 food hygiene rating and consistently high standards of food service.
  • Keep kitchen and equipment clean, tidy, safe and hygienic.

Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of working in a catering department or kitchen.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Well‑presented appearance and flexibility in working hours.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge and practice of food hygiene regulations (as outlined in the Food Safety Manual).
  • Awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace.
