Cygnet PCN is looking to recruit a Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner to join our busy primary care network. We are looking for a part time Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner (25 to 30 hours). The Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner operates at an advanced level of clinical practice with skills to assess, diagnose, treat and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) problems and undifferentiated conditions. This will involve seeing patients, without prior referral from their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan thus streamlining pathways of care. A Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner works independently in clinical practice and does not require day to day supervision. Patients can either self-refer or be referred by the PCNs members.
- Performing advanced assessment and clinical reasoning for patients with diverse presentations and complex musculoskeletal conditions
- Develop and deliver an individualised management/treatment programme.
- Following assessment, the post holder will be responsible for making therapeutic and/or clinical diagnoses and treating their own caseload of specialised and complex patients/clients and maintaining associated records
- The post holder will assist in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service
- Develop your clinical and leadership skills whilst working with a diverse caseloads. Our Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner is to be the first point of clinical contact for patients presenting with MSK conditions or symptoms, providing the patient with the primary assessment, diagnosis and management options for their condition.
- Use advanced clinical practice skills and clinical reasoning to provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment support to patients who present with complex musculoskeletal conditions and/or multiple pathologies and/or mental health and/or pain management needs.
