We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Childrens Community Health Team at HCRG Care Group.
You will provide high‑quality Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children, empowering them and their families to achieve their full potential.
Base: You will be based at one of our Surrey‑wide office hubs, with the flexibility of hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Carry out high‑quality school‑based assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) for children and young people.
- Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
- Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
- Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
- Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Knowledge or training in ASD strategies/interventions (e. g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
- Evidence of post‑graduate training or equivalent experience in child development, ASD, ADHD, neuro‑developmental conditions.
- Experience working with children in a paediatric setting and confidence in a variety of assessments and treatment approaches.
- Desirable: Membership of BAOT, membership of a special interest group, clinical educator qualification, experience delivering community‑based children’s OT services.
- Vehicle access – a valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
