We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and caring individuals to join our team as a Bank Housekeeping & Catering Assistant at Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet.

This varied role combines responsibilities across both our housekeeping and catering services, giving you the opportunity to support patients, visitors and colleagues while helping us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming hospital environment.

You'll enjoy the flexibility of bank working while gaining valuable experience within a professional and supportive healthcare setting.

This role is offered on a BANK (0-hour) contract.

There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs.

You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible option but it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours., As our Bank Housekeeping & Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the hospital by:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to patients, visitors and staff.
  • Recording patient meal choices and escalating any concerns where appropriate.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety within catering areas.
  • Cleaning patient areas, offices, corridors and public spaces to the required standards.
  • Cleaning and restocking washroom facilities and supporting waste disposal processes.
  • Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively following training and procedures.
  • Supporting infection prevention and control standards throughout the hospital.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent service experience.
    A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays when required.
  • An understanding of the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection control.
  • Experience within catering, housekeeping, hospitality or healthcare environments would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided., Applicants must have the right to work in the UK., A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
