About the role

We are looking for a passionate chef to join The Chestnuts, part‑time (16hoursperweek) working two days a week, including alternate weekend coverage and any sickness/holiday cover.

The position is a full‑time intent but pays hourly at £15.50.

There are no evening shifts and every other weekend is off.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily menus for residents, taking into account individual dietary requirements.
  • Support kitchen organisation and smooth running.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation at all times.
  • Cover alternate weekends and provide cover for sickness/holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12months of right‑to‑work status in the UK.
  • Experience in a professional kitchen and an understanding of kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or experience supporting complex dietary requirements (desirable).
