Apprenticeship Role Overview
Team MKUH is hiring an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter/Plumber to undertake the Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship.
The role aligns with apprenticeship studies, allowing you to learn and apply skills in a real work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair and installation work on water, ventilation, steam, air tube systems, heating and cooling plants, and other mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
- Work both independently and under supervision, as required.
- Collaborate with the Estates Services Manager, Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Supervisor and Estates Officers.
- Attend college once a week in Bicester and integrate learning into daily tasks.
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age, UK or EEA residency for the past 3 years.
- Evidence of Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent); four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling tasks.
- Willingness to learn and strong interest in plumbing.
- Ability to work alone and under supervision, adapt to change, work in demanding environments, confined spaces and at height using ladders or scaffold.
- Not currently in full-time education and no prior Level 3 plumbing qualification.
- Capability to commute to the college campus in Bicester.
