Job Overview

In this important role, you will be part of a duty rotation of social workers receiving assessments referred by our Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub.

You will also lead Section 47 child protection investigations where necessary, all with the support of experienced permanent managers.

The role is critical in ensuring children and families receive thoughtful, evidence‑based assessments that help them identify and make necessary changes, and when required develop a well‑structured plan of intervention to support lasting change.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess cases referred from the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub.
  • Lead and conduct Section 47 child protection investigations.
  • Carry out comprehensive child and family assessments in partnership with families.
  • Develop and communicate further plans of intervention.
  • Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to ensure timely and appropriate support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Completion of ASYE (or equivalent) training.
  • Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting.
  • Commitment to respectful, proportionate, evidence‑based, child‑focused assessments.
