An exciting vacancy is available as a Lecturer in Automotive Engineering - Light Vehicle in the Engineering, Aerospace and Automotive department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus and will be required to travel to other campuses regularly.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial work and marking.
  • Conducting student assessments to place students, monitor progress and identify learning support needs.
  • Providing appropriate student support to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners and ensuring that all relevant information is recorded on the appropriate College systems.
  • Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above, including attending team meetings, participating in professional development activities and staff appraisals, and maintaining accurate teaching-related records including details of assessment and attendance.
  • Taking part in course evaluation activities and contributing to the development of the curriculum.
  • Involvement in marketing, including identification of consumer requirements, creating appropriate publicity materials and working with external agencies where appropriate.
  • Undertaking other duties as may be reasonably required, commensurate with your grade, at your initial place of work or at other locations in the College catchment area.
  • Engaging in individual or collaborative research and consultancy work as agreed by the College Management.

This job description is current at the date shown; however, in consultation with you, it is liable to change to reflect changes in the job. Flexible working may include evenings and some weekends. Lecturers will also be expected to teach across the city in various community venues.
