An exciting opportunity has arisen for Automotive Assessors within the Work Based Learning department at Cardiff and Vale College. Positions available: 2 full‑time, one full‑time 1‑FTE permanent and 1 0.8‑FTE permanent.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for assessment and progression of a caseload of learners, achieving set operational key performance indicators, including recruitment, monitoring of progression and qualification attainment to meet contract requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements throughout the learners’ journey; including, but not exclusive to, health and safety vetting, WEST testing, learner sign‑up and exit paperwork and on‑programme reviews.
- Review current performance, provide accurate forecasts and proactively manage caseload to resolve issues.
- Maintain detailed sector knowledge, staying up to date with industry trends to ensure currency of occupational competence.
- Actively engage with employers during visits to promote work‑based learning, and follow up leads and enquiries in a timely manner.
- Comply with internal quality assurance, ensuring practice meets awarding organisation criteria and fully implements action recommendations from External Verifiers or associated personnel.
- Participate in periods of change to meet current and future needs of work‑based learning, e.g., introduction of technology and e‑portfolio.
- Actively develop learners’ literacy, numeracy and digital literacy.
- Collaborate with the College commercial team and employers to target new starts in line with WBL targets reviewed regularly.
- Undertake any other duties requested by the Line Manager, such as development of new sectors or delivery of new qualifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Welsh language skills desirable.
