About The Role
-
At cardfactory, we're looking for an experienced Business Architect to join our Transformation team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. This is a unique opportunity to operate at an enterprise level, helping define and design the strategic changes needed to deliver our ambitions, including Owning Celebrations and accelerating our omnichannel growth. Working across the organisation, you'll ensure business strategy, operating models, capabilities and transformation initiatives are aligned to deliver measurable value and long-term success.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, architects, technology teams and business leaders, you'll be responsible for shaping major transformation initiatives before they enter delivery. You'll act as the bridge between business strategy and execution, developing future-state business architectures, operating models and organisational designs that support our strategic objectives whilst enabling sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Based in Wakefield, this role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the office. It's a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges, influencing senior decision makers and making a tangible impact across a growing omnichannel retailer.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead the shaping and assessment of strategic initiatives, working with senior leaders to define business challenges, opportunities and desired outcomes before programmes are mobilised. You'll create structured approaches for evaluating investment opportunities and developing compelling recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
A key part of the role will involve designing, developing and implementing organisation models that enable the business to achieve its strategic objectives. You'll assess how teams, processes, capabilities and governance structures operate today, identifying opportunities to optimise organisational effectiveness, improve collaboration and support future growth. Using business insight, data and industry best practice, you'll develop recommendations for future organisation structures, operating models and ways of working that align with the wider business strategy.
You'll develop and maintain business capability models, future-state business architectures and transformation roadmaps, identifying capability gaps and ensuring people, process, technology and data considerations are fully integrated into transformation plans. You'll analyse current organisational structures and business processes to identify best practices, improve efficiency and enhance overall business performance.
Working closely with Enterprise Architecture and Technology teams, you'll help ensure business and technology strategies are designed as a single, joined-up solution. You'll facilitate workshops, engage stakeholders across Retail, Commercial, Digital, Supply Chain and Support Functions, and provide trusted advice to senior leaders sponsoring change initiatives.
You'll also support the development of business cases, benefits frameworks and value realisation plans, helping ensure our transformation investments remain focused on delivering sustainable business outcomes and measurable value.
What we're looking for
- Significant experience in Business Architecture, Strategic Transformation, Organisation Design or Enterprise Design roles
- Experience designing future-state operating models, organisational structures, business capabilities and transformation roadmaps
- Strong understanding of organisational design principles, business architecture frameworks and large-scale business change programmes
- Proven ability to analyse organisational effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and develop recommendations that support business strategy
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and executive audiences
