As an Engineering Technician, you’ll be involved in all aspects of our site work, helping to ensure projects run smoothly and that all relevant testing is completed. You’ll gain real, practical experience across every stage of a project while working within a supportive and collaborative team. Along the way, you’ll build exposure to a wide range of geological settings and ground hazards, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. This is a predominantly site-based role, requiring you to work away from home for extended periods. Your designated office base will be Harrogate, with opportunities to work on sites across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with and carry out geotechnical site investigations
  • Supervise and log trial pits, boreholes, and drilling works
  • Undertake in-situ testing (e.g. CBR, plate load tests, permeability tests, shear vane tests)
  • Maintain accurate site records, logs, and daily reports
  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and clients on site
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications, standards, and method statements
  • Assist with basic data processing and report preparation as required

Who We’re Looking For

  • Enthusiastic, engineering technicians who have experience in ground engineering or a technician role
  • Thrive on working outdoors, independently and in teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe working and SHEQ Culture
  • Have a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel/stay away as needed

You may also have:

  • CSCS Card, First Aid, EURS CAT 1 & 2
  • HNC / HND in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Engineering
  • Awareness of environmental legislation or industry H&S best practices
