Location: London (N1C - King's Cross), Havant (Portsmouth, Hampshire), Billericay (Essex). With site works across the UK.

As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you’ll be involved in all aspects of a project from “cradle to grave”, gaining real practical experience of all stages of a project from the initial desk based study, being on site completing tests and liaising with clients and subcontracts to the final interpretive report. You will be working within a supportive and collaborative team. Along the way, you’ll build exposure to a wide range of geological settings and ground hazards, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. This role offers a mixture of office, home, and site-based work. Your office will be one of our three based in the South‑East of England. Our dynamic team delivers projects of all shapes and sizes — from major infrastructure schemes to local commercial and residential developments — giving you the chance to broaden your experience and develop your skills quickly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You'll join our expert team and gain experience across the full geo‑environmental project lifecycle while working on a diverse range of developments across the UK.
  • Supporting desk studies and site walkovers to gather information and identify potential environmental risks before site investigations commence.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of intrusive site investigations to assess ground conditions and potential contamination.
  • Collecting, handling and managing soil, groundwater, surface water and ground gas samples in accordance with industry best practice, including maintaining accurate chain of custody procedures.
  • Liaising with UKAS‑accredited laboratories to coordinate environmental testing and assist with the review of analytical results.
  • Logging soils and rock in accordance with current British Standards and recognised geo‑environmental guidance.
  • Assisting with the interpretation of field and laboratory data to identify contamination risks and contribute to the development of Conceptual Site Models (CSMs).
  • Supporting the preparation of factual and interpretative geo‑environmental reports, including contaminated land assessments and recommendations for further investigation or remediation.
  • Developing an understanding of current environmental legislation, Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM) guidance, British Standards and other relevant technical guidance, applying these throughout your work.
  • Working closely with clients, regulators, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical solutions.
  • Completing site documentation, risk assessments, RAMS and daily records while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) compliance.
  • Building your technical knowledge through structured mentoring, on‑the‑job training and exposure to projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Enthusiastic engineers who have a relevant degree in geology, environmental science, geo‑environmental engineering or similar.
  • Have 0 – 3 years experience in a geo‑environmental or site investigation works.
  • Thrive on working outdoors, independently and in teams.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of safe working and SHEQ Culture.
  • Have a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel/stay away as needed.
  • Have experience and understanding of the relevant Geo‑Environmental legislation and regulations.

You may also have: CSCS Card, First Aid, EUSR HSG47 CAT 1 & 2.
