# Ecommerce Trading / Digital Trading Lead### About the job**Ecommerce Trading / Digital Trading Lead – 12 month FTC – Salary dep on experience**As Digital Trading Lead, you’ll be driving sales and profits across cardfactory’s online channels, helping us grow into the top digital spot for all things celebrations. You’ll lead a talented team of 9 covering trading, site optimisation, and content. You’ll report to the Digital Director and be an important part of the Digital Leadership Team.This is a **12-month fixed term contract** to cover maternity leave. We operate a hybrid working model combining some days working from home and some at our support centre in Wakefield (2-3 days per week), with great links to the M1 and free parking. **What you’ll do****Digital Strategy & Execution*** Define, own, and deliver the digital trading strategy that aligns with the wider digital and overall business strategy to drive significant growth over next 3-5 years* Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, marketing (digital and customer), finance, fulfilment and operation teams to ensure successful execution of the trading plan* Identify and act upon new opportunities to grow digital sales, customer engagement, and profitability**Trading & Merchandising*** Own the commercial trading performance of the website and app, ensuring sales, margin, and KPIs are delivered against plan* Oversee effective product merchandising and trading strategies to maximise visibility, sales, and engagement* Leverage trading levers including promotions, product placement, and content optimisation to drive conversion and improve eCommerce metrics* Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform trading and merchandising strategies**Reporting & Insights*** Oversee weekly and monthly digital trading reports with actionable insights and recommendations* Use data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimise performance, and highlight risks or opportunities* Provide clear visibility of digital performance to senior stakeholders**Cross-Functional Collaboration*** Partner closely with commercial buying teams to align digital strategy with product priorities* Work with marketing, product & UX, finance, and fulfilment/operations to deliver seamless customer experiences across key journeys* Plan and manage major and minor seasonal campaigns and trading events to maximise impact across all channels**Team Leadership*** Coach and develop a team across digital trading managers, creative content, product set-up and performance marketing, that ensures the team have the skills and leadership necessary for the future* Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring clear objectives, accountability, and growth within the team* Build strong collaboration and alignment across internal teams to deliver customer-first trading strategies**What you’ll need*** Proven experience in a senior digital trading or eCommerce leadership role* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering sales and margin targets in digital channels* Expertise in digital merchandising, promotions, and trading levers* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams* Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally, including senior stakeholders, to understand and take a specific course of action when there is no reporting link.* Comfort with numbers and an analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends and translate insights into actions.* Strong understanding of customer journeys, UX, and digital performance marketing* Interest and awareness of the digital card / gifting market, competition and industry development (preferable)* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills #priorityindeednrSportswift Ltd T/A cardfactory| | || — | — || Salary | Competitive salary and benefits package || Frequency | Annual || Job Reference | cardfac/TP/1417897/29240 || Contract Type | Temporary || Working Hours | 37.5 || Closing Date | 17 October, 2025 || Location | Century House Brunel Road Wakefield 41 Industrial Estate, United Kingdom || Posted on | 17 September, 2025 |### Spread the word #J-18808-Ljbffr
