We are recruiting for a Slitting machine operator to join our card manufacturing site, Printcraft, in Baildon. Printcraft manufactures the UK greetings cards, wrap and POS for stores. It is a forward-thinking business with state-of-the-art equipment operating on a large site 24/7, producing around a quarter of a billion items per annum. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (regular days).
Responsibilities
- Working to production timelines, the Slitting machine operator is responsible for the slitting of all products required for the manufacturing process.
- After training, you’ll carry out basic maintenance on this machine, so an intermediate technical knowledge is required.
- You’ll also manage stock control of raw material and submit purchase requisitions as required.
- It will be essential to possess a good appreciation of maths to ensure accurate operation of the slitting machine.
- To deliver and prioritise workload successfully you will build relationships and work closely with other key members of the wider team such as Production Planners, Finishing Machine Operators and Managers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Be numerically literate with Maths GCSE or equivalent.
- Intermediate technical knowledge for basic machine maintenance.
- Previous experience of operating machines in a similar production environment - beneficial.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to business needs.
- Basic computer skills are required.
