The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and wider team to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people within a Residential Children's Care Home.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support children to feel safe, valued, and cared for
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Help children process past experiences and develop life skills
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour through therapeutic care strategies
  • Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using IT systems
  • Lead shifts and support the day to day running of the home when required
  • Provide guidance, encouragement and positive role modelling to team members
  • Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in developing a strong, reflective and supportive team culture

Requirements

Essential:

  • Full UK Driving Licence (manual), held for at least 12 months
  • Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
  • Ability to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
  • At least 1 year’s experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma or complex behavioural needs

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – can be working towards
