The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.

Main Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of this role is to execute the lab work following provided synthetic route and contribute with ideas to own and other projects when problems are encountered during the synthesis
Key Responsibilities
- To execute the lab work following provided synthetic routes and solve practical problems through the application of chemical synthesis design, testing, and development
- Synthesis of existing and new catalogue products including developing synthesis routes or optimising current ones
- Carry out characterisation and data analysis
- Record experimental detail and analytical data accurately within the ELN
- Perform all laboratory work in a safe manner and comply with all regulations, adhere to company policies
- Execute lab work for own project and deliver within given deadlines
- Share basic maintenance and housekeeping duties of laboratory equipment and chemistry laboratory areas
- Prepare progress and final product reports where amenable
- Management of Synthetic Chemistry Assistant (Industrial placement student) where applicable
Candidate Requirements
- BSc graduate chemist β Ideally Organic Chemistry BSc
- Proven record in a wide range of synthetic chemistry.
- Ability to work in the team
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with a wide range of organic synthesis techniques
- A strong mechanistic understanding of synthetic chemistry
- Self-motivated
- Well organised and pro-active learner
