Job Duration: Contract – 6 months
Working Hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break, so a 40-hour working week.

Scope
To oversee inspection and testing activities at client Survival, across goods-in, in-process, and finished inflatable rescue equipment, ensuring products meet defined specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role is hands-on inspection, team leadership, and quality escalation support, ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System and driving continuous improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect bought in material and components to the latest specifications, visual quality standards and purchase order.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct documentation is received.
- Receive items into stock through Lakeview.
- Inspect and test sub-assemblies and finished products.
- Ensure inspection is carried out in accordance with drawings, SOP’s, and quality standards.
- Perform functional and pressure testing of inflatable products.
- Verify product conformity using appropriate measurement and test equipment.
- Raise RMA’s for non-conforming supplied product.
- Close RMA’s by reviewing preventive action from the supplier to drawings.
- Complete works orders and inspection logs.
Non-Conformance Management
- Lead initial containment actions and product segregation.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions of non-conformities raised.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions before closure.
- Act as first point of escalation for inspection issues.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support Quality Inspectors.
- Allocate daily inspection workload and priorities.
- Provide training, coaching, and competency development.
- Conduct basic performance monitoring (work quality, adherence to procedures).
Documentation & Records
- Ensure accurate completion of inspection records, test reports, works orders and quality logs.
- Maintain traceability and shelf-life records where applicable.
- Support updates to inspection procedures, checklists, and test methods.
Quality System Compliance
- Operate in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to rescue/life-saving equipment.
- Promote a “right-first-time” culture on the shop floor.
Experience
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System is essential.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Experience of inspecting bought in items to PO’s and drawings.
- Be able to demonstrate competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience using manual measuring equipment - shadowgraphs, Verniers, Micrometres, thread gauge.
- Experience testing air fed products, reading manometers, flow meters and pressure gauges.
- Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
