Pay: £20.86/hr PAYE | £26.04/hr LTD

Are you a hands-on maintenance professional with a clean, valid driving licence and practical repair experience? We’re looking for a Voids Maintenance Officer to join our Housing Management team at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out lock changes (including barrel locks) and minor repairs in void properties
  • Visit properties daily to record meter readings and carry out lock changes
  • Accurately record and log utilities (gas/electric meter info) throughout the void process
  • Resolve meter queries and clear debts to enable void work to commence
  • Complete tenancy-ready checks and minor repairs to a high standard
  • Perform both site visits and some office-based administrative tasks

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Clean, valid driving licence
  • Hands-on repair experience (must be able to physically carry out repairs and lock changes)
  • Not suitable for remote work – daily property visits required
  • Ability to manage both field and office tasks

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience in maintenance repairs and as a handy person
  • Knowledge of utility meters (smart and prepayment)
  • Strong attention to detail and robust data management
  • Good IT skills (MS Office proficiency)
  • Clear communication and collaborative working attitude
  • GCSE pass in English and Maths (or equivalent)
