Overview
Carbon60 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Custodian to join a client based in Brize Norton. As the Tool Custodian, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company\βs extensive tooling and equipment inventory to support Airbus Military (UK) Part 145 Line Maintenance and Workshop operations.
The Tool Custodian will ensure that all necessary tooling and equipment are accounted for, controlled, and managed effectively. This includes conducting regular inventory checks, processing incoming and outgoing equipment, and maintaining accurate records using the TCMax system.
Responsibilities
- Be trained and competent in using the TCMax system
- Carry out 100% inventory check of the store including MMTs against the system at each handover of responsibilities
- Complete required paperwork for governance of the store including zonal checks at set periods determined by the controlling procedure
- Ensure when issuing equipment and tooling that a 100% content check is carried out
- Ensure when receiving back equipment and tooling that a 100% content check is carried, the items are serviceable, any consumables are replenished as required and that the items are clean and not damaged
- Manage all kits with multiple items ensuring they are sealed using a tag once accepted
- Ensure all items returning as U/S (Unserviceable) are clearly marked with a U/S label, quarantined and highlighted to the Maintenance Integrator
- Ensure all items out of calibration are clearly marked with a U/S label and quarantined
- Controlling the access rights to the bonded tool store
- Report any abnormalities to Line Operation SLE for immediate investigation
- Ensure all tools are cleared on TCMax for the applicable aircraft before returning the aircraft MTT
Shift Pattern & Pay
This position is a 5 on 4 off shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts (7-7). Due to shift work there is a 16.88% uplift on the hourly rate.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in practical implementation of engineering and customer support
- Good commercial awareness and experience in dealing with customers
- Fluent in written and spoken English, including communication using technical vocabulary
- Ability to manage day-to-day communications effectively and efficiently
- Ability to understand and interpret stakeholder expectations and needs
- Strong attention to detail, systematic behaviour, and reliability
- Willingness to take ownership of problems and provide authoritative answers
- Sensitivity to the unspoken interests and concerns of others
- Ability to put the interests of the program/product ahead of national or company allegiances
