Carbon60 is recruiting for experienced Tilers to support a 3-month project across residential and commercial properties in the Manchester area.
PAY RATE: £26.00 per hour (Umbrella)
CONTRACT TYPE: Ongoing Contract
LOCATION: Manchester area
WORKING PATTERN: Full-time, Monday to Friday
VAN PROVIDED: Yes - home to business use only
THE ROLE: The Tiler will be responsible for delivering high-quality wall and floor tiling works across a variety of residential and commercial settings. You will carry out preparation, installation, and finishing works to a high professional standard, ensuring surfaces are completed safely, accurately, and in line with site specifications and health & safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation: Clean, level, and repair surfaces prior to installation; Remove old tiles, grout, and debris as required; Apply waterproof membranes and prepare surfaces for tiling.
- Layout & Planning: Measure areas accurately and interpret drawings or plans; Plan tile layouts for symmetry, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Cutting & Fitting: Cut tiles precisely using appropriate tools (wet saws, tile cutters); Fit tiles around edges, fixtures, and corners with accuracy.
- Installation & Finishing: Apply adhesives such as mortar or thin-set; Install tiles ensuring correct alignment, spacing, and pattern; Apply grout and sealants to achieve a high-quality finish; Conduct final quality checks to ensure work meets project standards.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum Level 2 NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Wall & Floor Tiling.
- Proven experience on commercial and/or domestic tiling projects.
- Strong understanding of site health & safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
