Design Manager ROLE : Design Manager LOCATION : Southampton, SO53 PAY RATE : Β£500.00 per day – LTD/PSC, Outside IR35 CONTRACT : Contract 6 Months – ASAP Start THE ROLE: We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to support a major construction contractor on projects across the Southwest.

The successful candidate will be based from the Southampton office, with Exeter also potentially available.

Experience working on public-sector construction projects is highly desirable, particularly within education, healthcare or Mo J.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and coordinate the design process from early stages through to construction.

Coordinate design information between consultants, contractors and project teams.

Review designs to ensure they meet project requirements, programme and quality standards.

Identify and manage design risks, changes and technical issues.

Work closely with project, commercial and site teams to support project delivery.

Monitor design progress and ensure information is available when required on site.

Support design reviews, technical meetings and stakeholder coordination.

Maintain and manage design documentation and relevant project information.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

Strong understanding of design management and design coordination.

Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.

Good understanding of construction design processes and documentation.

Experience working closely with project and site teams.

Ability to work from the Southampton/Chandler's Ford office.

DESIRABLE SKILLS: Previous experience working on public-sector construction projects.

Experience within education/schools, healthcare or Mo J projects.

Knowledge of SCF (Southern Construction Framework), Procure or P23 frameworks.

Previous experience working for a Tier 1/main contractor.
