Senior Simulation and Modelling Engineer

Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Simulation and Modelling Engineer to join their dynamic team working on a fast-paced and challenging project. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of specific aspects of the performance model used to support a key programme within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing computer simulations and Simulink models from mathematical specifications
  • Integrating components from within the team and other project areas
  • Designing, implementing, testing, and reviewing models, ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Maintaining appropriate design records and supporting documentation
  • Interacting autonomously with other functional teams, such as Guidance Navigation & Control, Software, and Systems Design & Validation
  • Performing technical analyses and investigations to identify and resolve issues
  • Engaging with model users to understand their needs and ensure the model is fit for its intended use

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An appropriate engineering degree or master\’s degree, such as in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Proven experience in Simulation and Modelling, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Proficiency in using The MathWorks products, specifically Simulink, Embedded MATLAB, and Stateflow
  • Ability to produce computer simulations and Simulink models from mathematical specifications
  • Strong understanding of the modelling process and working within a quality-driven environment
  • Knowledge of coding standards and experience with languages such as C, FORTRAN, or Ada
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Rational Team Concert and requirement management tools like DOORS
  • Experience with autocode generation from Simulink
