Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Gas Engineer to support gas safety checks, repairs, and maintenance activities across social housing properties in the Rotherham area.
The successful candidate will carry out gas safety inspections, servicing, and repairs within occupied social housing properties while delivering high levels of customer service and maintaining strict compliance with health & safety procedures. This is a field-based role suited to qualified gas engineers who are confident working independently, managing workloads efficiently, and maintaining professional standards within domestic maintenance environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Complete gas safety checks, servicing, and repair works across domestic properties
- Deliver excellent customer service while working within tenanted homes
- Ensure all works are completed in line with current gas safety regulations and company procedures
- Work effectively with clients, tenants, and internal teams on a daily basis
- Support operational KPI targets and service delivery standards
- Use company communication systems, PPE, and vehicle tracking systems responsibly
- Complete all required written and electronic documentation accurately
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and professionalism at all times
- Participate in training courses and team meetings as required
- Support additional maintenance activities where required, including basic plumbing or patch plastering tasks
- Current valid UK Driving Licence
- ACS qualifications including CCN1, HTR1, CKR1, and CENWAT
- CSCS Card
- Basic DBS Check
- NVQ Level 2 or above within a relevant discipline
- Previous experience working within domestic repairs or social housing environments
- Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Basic multi-skilled experience including plumbing or patch plastering
- Experience working on plastic and copper wet systems
- Previous experience within social housing maintenance contracts
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Face-to-face interview with the Repairs Supervisor
- Candidates must provide copies of relevant qualifications on the day
- Discussion around day-to-day operations, responsibilities, and expectations
