Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Engineer team, focusing on key projects across the East Midlands, including Peterborough (Hospital), Leicester (Pepsi R&D Facility), and Northampton (roof projects for International Academy), with additional projects as needed. This is a 12-month contract with the potential to become permanent, offering excellent career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design management for multiple projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Assess project requirements, develop plans, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage design processes across various sites in the East Midlands.
  • Work independently, hitting the ground running with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet technical and client specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager in engineering or construction projects.
  • Ability to assess, plan, and manage complex design projects with confidence and autonomy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to provide clear project updates.
  • Willingness to travel across the East Midlands (Peterborough, Leicester, Northampton) as required.
  • Not a project manager transitioning to design work; must have established design management expertise.
  • Comfortable with a hybrid working model (3 days in Coalville office, some home and site-based work).

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid Role: 3 days per week in the office (Coalville, LE67 3HP), with a mix of home working and site visits.
  • Travel: Regular travel to project sites in the East Midlands. No mileage paid for commuting or site visits.
