Job Description

Role – Scaffold Design Engineer

Location – Aberdeen or Warrington

Start Date – ASAP

Duration – Permanent

Salary – £35,000 to £55,000 depending on experience

Hours – Monday to Friday. 37hrs

The position holder is employed as a Scaffold Design Engineer and is required to progress identified job tasks in a diligent and efficient way as directed by the Scaffold Design Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scaffold design engineering services for all offshore and onshore sites. This will include, but not limited to, the design of complex and large scale access scaffolds, temporary roofs, habitats and load bearing structures.
  • Consultation with clients and site teams to discuss, resolve and design major structural scaffold design requirements.
  • Design drawings, provide technical guidance, calculations and detailing of structural scaffolds in accordance with the relevant British and European standards and industry best practice to allow construction of structural scaffolds on sites.
  • Regular site surveys onshore and offshore installations with follow up reporting.
  • Adhering to internal process and procedures.
  • Promotion of the scaffold design service and scaffold innovations to the wider group.
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with clients and operational team members.
  • Support with developing and implementing workpacks in relation to scaffold design including estimating, risk assessments and checking of designs.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous role in engineering or Engineering graduate
  • HNC (or above) in Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD software
  • Understanding of structural mechanics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Temporary works/scaffold design experience (Desirable)
  • Industrial scaffold experience(Desirable)
  • Structural/Civil/Mechanical engineering degree(Desirable)
  • BOSIET(Desirable)
  • MIST(Desirable)
  • Medical(Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of structural analysis software(Desirable)
  • 3D CAD modelling experience(Desirable)
