Carbon60 is looking to recruit Production Operators to support manufacturing operations within the Royston Area.

PAY RATE: £15.45 per hour

CONTRACT TYPE: 12-Month Contract | Monday to Friday

LOCATION: Royston

THE ROLE: The successful candidate will assist in the manufacture of precious metal-based alloys and components through a range of production processes. The role involves machine operation, product inspection, packaging, quality control, and ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. This position is ideal for candidates with manufacturing experience who are comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment and can demonstrate strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow standard operating procedures and production work instructions
  • Manufacture components using a variety of production equipment and processes
  • Operate and set up machinery in accordance with agreed standards and procedures
  • Accurately record production and process information
  • Use measuring equipment including micrometres and tensile testing machines
  • Monitor and control product quality using SPC charts and quality documentation
  • Submit quality samples and prepare inspection records
  • Carry out inspection and packaging of finished materials
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to achieve production targets and customer demand
  • Minimise waste and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures
  • Support additional production activities as required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good level of English with the ability to understand procedures and safety instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes accurately
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work safely and follow all company procedures
  • Good organisational skills and ability to meet production targets in a busy environment
  • Ability to perform manual handling activities and lift items up to 20kg when required

DESIRABLE:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience operating manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment and quality inspection processes
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of SPC, statistical controls, or quality systems
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Factory-based production environment within the Noble Metals business unit
  • Employees must wear company uniform and required PPE at all times
